“ IDdesign is a key brand in the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group LLC’s retail portfolio. In its 20th year of operations in the UAE, we intend to offer our customers even more added value and design options that suit their varied tastes. We’re re-launching our IDdesign store at Mall of the Emirates, which has undergone a complete redesign – it has more retail space, and features areas to better showcase the designs IDdesign can offer. We’ve been looking at aspiring interior designers and encouraging them to explore their talent. The present competition is a first among the many events planned through the year. We will also continue our on-going intimate interior decor meet up events in our stores in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi called It’s My Space,” said Abdulla Al Gurg, Group General Manager, Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group LLC..
IDdesign’s Design Manager, Nataliya Yordanova, over saw the process to ensure that the designs incorporated one of IDdesign’s four distinct design personalities: Deluxe, Global, Upnordic and Urban. Each of the designs created had a stylish, functional and international look.
The finished designs were open for public vote from February 25, with the ballots being counted and audited for accuracy. Having received the most votes for her design, Nafeesa Mohammed will now travel to the home of IDdesign, Denmark, with return airfares for two persons and accommodation provided by the design company.
‘Design My Space’ was held to celebrate IDdesign’s multi-million Dirham refurbishment, which has increased the overall retail space at Mall of the Emirates by 30 per cent. As one of UAE’s leading contemporary furniture and interior décor companies, IDdesign had to remain open while the transformation took place, and a modular approach ensured that the showroom was operational during the six-month process.
Adrian Shaw, Managing Director for IDdesign, said: “IDdesign at Mall of Emirates is our flagship retail store. To be able to host a competition of this size, and allow fans to showcase their design talent live in the store has been a tremendous undertaking. We’ve had wonderful feedback on this competition, and it’s been a great start to our 20th Anniversary.”
